The United States welcomes the agreement to ensure a functional Bosnia and Herzegovina and its progress toward European Union membership which BiH political parties supported in Brussels on Sunday, the US Embassy in the country said, noting that “those who fail to deliver on their reform promises and instead continue to prevent BiH from meeting its full potential should be held accountable.”
The document accepted by the political parties represented in the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the members of the BiH Presidency following a lengthy meeting with the senior European Union officials, among other things, reiterates their commitment to preserving and building a peaceful, stable, sovereign and independent functional BiH and the country's EU integration.

“We take note of the Political Agreement on Principles for Ensuring a Functional BiH that Advances on the European Path. The US shares with our European partners support for the aspiration of all BiH citizens to enjoy greater security and prosperity through Euro-Atlantic integration,” the Embassy said.
“BiH leaders, unfortunately, have a weak track record of seizing opportunities to bring this country forward by delivering on reforms. Those who fail to deliver on their reform promises and instead continue to prevent BiH from meeting its full potential should be held accountable,” it said.
