The US Embassy in Bosnia welcomed the discussion in the House of Representatives on the establishment of a working group to amend the election legislation and the “need for meaningful inclusion” of the Central Election Commission, civil society and other stakeholders in the process.
“Parliament and the Council of Ministers should complete the process without further delay so that serious work on key electoral reforms can begin,” the Embassy said.
We welcome the HoR’s discussions on IAWG formation and the need for meaningful inclusion of CEC, civil society, and other key stakeholder input. Parliament and the CoM should complete the process without further delay so that serious work on key electoral reforms can begin.

However, the House of Representatives postponed the vote on the proposal for the establishment of the Inter-Agency Working Group, which was proposed by both houses.
The Special Representative of the European Union in BiH, Johann Sattler, also commented on the process and welcomed the “vibrant discussion” on the formation of the working group, emphasizing that this body must be inclusive and transparent in its work but stressing that it is important to “not lose more time” in tackling the issue.
Good to see vibrant discussions in Parliament on composition of IAWG. This group has to be inclusive and transparent in its work. Also important to not loose more time in establishing the IAWG. https://t.co/fTpo6IRukK
