Milorad Dodik, the President of Bosnia's Republika Srpska entity, welcomed the head of the Serbia's top security agency Aleksandar Vulin “to the club,” after the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions on him for “corrupt dealing which facilitate Russian malign activities in Serbia and the region."

“We, Serbs, are a small people but exceptionally proud and we will never be a subject of blackmailing and someone else's interests. As political representatives of Serbs, the interests and future of our people, as well as Republika Srpska and Serbia, are our number one priority. Welcome to the club of the sanctioned, brother, it will get easier for you now,” said Dodik, the Bosnian Serb official who has been repeatedly sanctioned by the US authorities for undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement and democratic processes.

Speaking to Srna news agency, Dodik said that he sees the sanctions as a reward for patriotism and perseverance in maintaining the friendly relations with Russia and Russian people.

“Anyone who is neutral on the global stage of today and who did not take the side of American interests is seen by the US as an enemy. Aleksandar Vulin is ‘guilty’ for the US because he remained principled and strictly against the sanctions on Russia over Russia-Ukraine conflict,” said Dodik.

He also noted that he is subject of the US sanctions because Republika Srpska objected the sanctions against Russia and it represented a neutral stand, adding that he feels very well because of that.

Dodik strongly condemned the policy of sanctions and pressures, expressing support to Vulin and his further work.
