Threats to state-level institutions in Bosnia produce divisions among citizens and prevent the country from achieving a more prosperous and stable future, the US State Department Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs said amid a major political crisis in BiH.
“The United States continues to underscore to key BiH leaders our commitment to Dayton, sovereignty and the territorial integrity of BiH. Threatening state-level institutions divides BiH citizens and denies them a more prosperous and stable European future,” a tweet by the Bureau said.

he statement comes in light of the announcement of the Serb member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, that the country’s semi-autonomous Republika Srpska (RS) entity will unilaterally withdraw from numerous state institutions and form parallel ones.
