Vucic says he discussed Bosnia with France's Macron; Macron stresses importance of respecting rule of law in Bosnia

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that he had an open and friendly conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, "focused on bilateral relations and current developments in the region, with special emphasis on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo and Metohija."

"I emphasized that Serbia remains committed to all processes aimed at preserving peace, cooperation and prosperity," Vucic posted via social media.
He stressed that the country's development, the well-being of citizens, and the protection of the Serb people are Serbia's key national interests, and reiterated Belgrade's readiness to contribute to the long-term stability of the region.

"We are committed to dialogue and respect for international law, and ready to contribute to the stability of the Western Balkans," Vucic added.

He thanked Macron for his personal engagement when it comes to the Western Balkans, as well as for France's continued support for Serbia's European path.
At the end of the conversation, Vucic extended an official invitation to President Macron to visit Serbia.
The French President also commented on the conversation, confirming that they discussed Bosnia.
"I emphasized how much importance France attaches to the stability, unity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as respect for the rule of law," Macron wrote in regard with the part of the talk referring to Bosnia.

This comes days after the final verdict against Milorad Dodik, Bosnian Serb leader, who was sentenced to one year in prison and six-year political ban for disobeying the decisions of the international community's high representative in Bosnia.
The court decision sparked reaction of Dodik, who dismissed it as political but also Vucic's, who said Serbia does not accept the Bosnia court verdict against Dodik.
