President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, said, after the emergency session of the National Security Council, that Serbia does not accept the decision of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which sentenced President of Bosnia's Republika Srpska (RS) entity Milorad Dodik to one year in prison and a six-year political ban, for disobeying the decisions of the international community's high representative.

Vucic said that this is the most difficult situation for Serbia since 2008, "the question is where and how will all this end."

"This decision is anything but democratic, against general legal principles, directed against RS and the Serbian people as a whole," said Vucic.

Asked if Dodik will be arrested if a warrant is issued for that, and he is in Serbia, he said he will not.

"All competent state bodies are obliged to respect the decision of the National Security Council. Milorad Dodik is welcome on the territory of the Republic of Serbia. He is the President of Republika Srpska, legitimately and legally elected. And the fact that some people are now making him a hero, I'm a little jealous of Milorad, to be honest," said Vucic.

Dodik thanked Vucic

Shortly afterwards, Dodik posted on X social network, thanking Vucic and the members of the National Security Council for not accepting and condemning the verdict, pointing out that Serbia understood that the entire proceedings against him were a political farce.

"It has been shown once again that when it is important for Republika Srpska, it has a sincere friend in President Vucic, responsible to the people, principled and determined to protect national interests," Dodik stressed.
