The European low-cost airline Wizz Air has on Wednesday announced the opening of its 41st base which will be in Bosnia’s capital, as well as that it will base one Airbus A320 at the Sarajevo International Airport in May this year.
Wizz Air also announced the launch of nine new routes from Sarajevo to cities in seven countries as of May 2021 and the new flights can already be booked at a price starting at 19.99 euros.
Wizz Air has been operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina since May 2013, when the first plane took off from Tuzla for Malmo, and in the past eight years, the airline has transported almost three million passengers to and from BiH.
“With this expansion, Wizz Air continues to increase its operations in BiH by 50 percent, thus maintaining its leading position in the market,” the company said.
The new Airbus A320 will fly nine new routes from Sarajevo: Brussels Charleroi, Copenhagen, Dortmund, Eindhoven, Gothenburg, London Luton, Memmingen, Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (Euroairport) and Paris Beauvais in 2021.
