The largest low-cost and low-budget airline in Central and Eastern Europe, WizzAir, informed the Bosnian public that as of November 1, 2022, it is closing its base in Sarajevo.
“It is with deep regret that we had to make the difficult but responsible decision to close our base in Sarajevo on November 1, 2022. Passengers with bookings affected by this decision will be contacted by email today with advice on all their options, which include: rebooking, a full refund or 120 percent of the original price in the form of airline credit,” WizzAir said.
The company emphasized that they are dedicated to the Tuzla air base.
“We will continue to fly from Sarajevo to Abu Dhabi and London (Luton Airport). In addition, we will consolidate our presence at the base in Tuzla and strengthen our position there. We will add new flights from Tuzla International Airport to Eindhoven, as well as increase the frequencies on our routes from Tuzla to Basel Mulhouse, Freiburg, Dortmund and Memmingen”, they wrote.
The company added that employees will be offered other working conditions.
