Budapest-based low-cost carrier Wizzair announced on Thursday new flights that will connect Sarajevo with seven new destinations across Europe and increase the frequency of currently active routes.
The company will also secure a second aircraft Airbus A320 as of December 2021 in its Sarajevo base.
Wizzair will as of December fly twice a week to and from Sarajevo to Frankfurt, Venice, Billund, Hamburg and Oslo, while the flights to and from Cologne and Malmo will be operating three times a week.
In addition to that, the company will increase the frequency of weekly flights to and from Sarajevo to Copenhagen, Dortmund, Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Memmingen.
“We are happy to witness the decision of our partners, the Wizzair company, to expand the network of its destinations, but also to secure another aircraft in their base at our airport. That's proof of the interest of passengers and the need to connect Bosnia and Herzegovina with the world in the best way,” said Elvedin Begic, general manager of the Sarajevo International Airport, speaking at a press conference with partners from Wizzair.
Wizzair Group Chairman Robert Carey said the company was pleased to announce the expansion of its network and adding another aircraft to its Sarajevo base, adding that this is the evidence of the company's devotion to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Our crew is impatiently awaiting to welcome the passengers in our young and green Airbus aircrafts,” he said.
