The fugitive former boss of Dinamo Football Club, Zdravko Mamić, has paid HRK 52 million (€7million) into the state budget in line with a final ruling in which he was found guilty of embezzling the club's funds.

The amount which Mamic was ordered to pay in compliance with the Osijek County Court's final verdict, was paid into the state budget following an agreement concluded between Mamic's wife and the Zagreb County Prosecutor's Office.

The Prosecutor's Office today made public the information about the debt settlement without revealing the identity of the parties concerned.

Apart from this case in which the final ruling was handed down, Zdravko Mamic is also being tried in absentia in another case of fraud at Dinamo and he is also under investigation on suspicion of having bribed several judges at Osijek County Court.
