Zeljko Komsic, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, welcomed Ian Borg, the Chairperson of the OSCE and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta, during a meeting in Sarajevo.
Komsic praised Malta for taking on the significant responsibility of leading the OSCE in challenging times and commended the country's leadership throughout the year. He expressed hope that the upcoming OSCE Ministerial Council in Malta on December 5-6 would be productive and lead to consensus on important issues for all member states.
Highlighting the collaboration with the OSCE Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the organization's largest field operations, Komsic acknowledged their support in strengthening democratic institutions, including assistance with the election process.
Borg voiced appreciation for Bosnia and Herzegovina's partnership with the OSCE and emphasized the need for the European Union to do more to help Bosnia and Herzegovina overcome its challenges.
The officials agreed on the need to improve political and economic relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Malta, and highlighted the potential for enhanced economic cooperation and trade.
Borg also extended condolences to the families of victims of recent catastrophic floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
