Citizens of Zenica took to the streets for peaceful protests on Sunday against inflation and sudden price hikes in basic living necessities and utility costs.

Almedina Dautbegovic stated that they expect even greater turnout at the upcoming protests.
“Our demands are the demands of the average citizen. They concern corruption, price hikes, and local issues like heating. We have addressed problems for all three levels of government, where there are three different political parties. Heating reductions have become more frequent, but the bills still come as if the heating was on all month. We would like someone from the City Administration to come out and tell us what will be done about this and what the solution is,” Dautbegovic said.

A pensioner who attended the protests said it is not easy, and she supports the protests in hopes that the state or those in power will take action.

“We can’t take this anymore. We have little left of our lives, and it’s sad that we’re living like this and asking for our rights this way,” said the Zenica resident.

A mother of a young boy explained that she was there for her children, so they could have a better life.

The protesters held banners with various messages.
