Zenica Mayor, Fuad Kasumovic, was publicly vaccinated Wednesday and thus decided to encourage his fellow citizens to trust the professionals and doctors, and reject all prejudices about conspiracy theories regarding vaccines, the City of Zenica said.
According to Kasumovic, the citizens of Zenica had the opportunity to register in the outpatient clinics of the Zenica “Health Centre” for immunization, however, the number of applicants so far is not encouraging.
“That was the only reason why I decided to get vaccinated publicly, today. I wanted to encourage my fellow citizens who trust me, and there are at least 33,000 of them in Zenica. Our loved ones are leaving us, our dear people, friends, acquaintances are leaving,” said Kasumovic.
Dr Lela Brka, head of the Hygiene and Epidemiology Service of the Zenica “Health Centre,” said that they received Pfizer vaccines in the second contingent, which will vaccinate the remaining health workers who did not receive the vaccine in the first phase.
“We received 192 doses of Pfizer vaccine. Citizens could apply for the vaccine in the local outpatient clinics throughout March, however, we are not satisfied with the response, the deadline will probably be extended,” said Brka.
