Turkey's Ambassador hands over Kangal anti-arone system to BiH
The ceremonial handover of the Kangal anti-drone system, donated by the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey for the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was held on Friday at the BiH Armed Forces' "Rajlovac" barracks in Sarajevo. The ceremony was attended by top officials from the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of BiH, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye, the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, and EUFOR.

Addressing those present, the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to BiH, Emin Akseki, emphasized the deep cultural and historical ties between Turkey and BiH, noting that the security and stability of BiH are among Turkey's key priorities in the Balkans.
"Since the declaration of independence, Turkey has always stood by BiH, and it will continue to do so in the future," he underscored.
Akseki also highlighted the close military relations between the two countries.

"In order to increase the capacities of the BiH Armed Forces and support the NATO membership process, we are pleased to provide support in the training of military personnel, maintenance of vehicles and equipment, as well as the modernization process," he added.
He further emphasized that Turkey's contribution to the EUFOR Althea mission represents another aspect of "the strong military support we provide to BiH."
Addressing the attendees, BiH Minister of Defense Zukan Helez expressed gratitude for the donated equipment from what he described as "brotherly Turkey."
"BiH is facing modern forms of threats and challenges brought by the rapid development of technology, especially unmanned aerial vehicles and drones," Helez said, recalling recently observed unauthorized drone flights over BiH Armed Forces facilities.
