Bosnia and Herzegovina’s ambassador to Iran, Nijaz Cardaklija, told N1 that all Bosnian citizens currently in Iran are safe and in regular contact with the embassy in Tehran. He added that the situation in the capital remains calm, with no panic, and that daily life continues as normal.

“The BiH embassy is in constant contact with all our citizens in Iran, not only in Tehran,” Cardaklija said. “Today, the Bosnian diaspora here is small, and both my colleague Mojmar Spajic and I know each of them personally. They all have my phone number and reach out if they need anything.”

He emphasized that none of the citizens were in danger during the Israeli strikes earlier in the day. According to Cardaklija, Tehran is not a war zone, as there are no military or nuclear targets in or around the city, which is why it was not hit in this wave of attacks.

About 99% of Bosnian citizens in Iran are in Teheran. The embassy held a meeting with citizens yesterday and plans another one today to hear their views. People are going about their normal routines and work activities.

However, one Bosnian tourist in the southwestern city of Shiraz contacted the embassy requesting help to leave the country. The ambassador confirmed that they are in contact with the individual and will assist him in departing safely, although flight delays may occur.

Cardaklija said the return of regular air traffic would be a clear sign of stabilization and de-escalation. He concluded by calling for calm, warning that further Israeli military action could provoke a stronger Iranian response, noting that the first wave of Iranian drone attacks was largely symbolic.
