BiH Defence Minister orders suspension of nearly all bilateral cooperation activities with Serbia
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Minister of Defense, Zukan Helez, stated on Friday in Sarajevo that he has initiated an internal procedure to determine responsibility regarding the events during the commemoration of the anniversary of the 3rd Infantry (Republika Srpska) Regiment of the Armed Forces of BiH at the Kozara Barracks in Banja Luka.

He recalled that fugitives from the Bosnian judiciary— President of BiH's RS entity Milorad Dodik, Speaker of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandic, and RS Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic—entered the Kozara barracks despite a prior ban he had issued.
“If responsibilities are established, legally prescribed measures will be taken against those identified as responsible, including those in the chain of command,” said Helez.
He added that he had ordered the suspension of all activities within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Ministry of Defense of Serbia due to the inappropriate conduct of Serbia’s defense minister—except for the education of cadets at the military academy in Serbia.

“This incident is proof that NATO membership is the only solution to the crisis in the country,” Helez declared.
