Media: Republika Srpska PM Radovan Viskovic evaded arrest in Brcko District

According to the Srpskainfo news portal, the police had prepared an ambush for Viskovic, expecting him to pass through Brcko accompanied by an official escort. However, Viskovic was not in the convoy of vehicles, raising suspicion that he had altered his route to avoid the planned operation, allegedly using a helicopter to throw off the trail.

Special police units of the Brcko District and two ambulances were deployed on the ground.

"The police checked the identification of all members of the escort, including drivers and police officers involved in the security detail for the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, but Viskovic was not with them," a source from the Brcko District police told Srpskainfo.

The source added that more than 50 special forces officers were involved in the operation.

Goran Pisic, the head of the Brcko District Police, briefly told Srpskainfo that he had no comment.

"I have no comment for now," Pisic stated.

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a central arrest warrant on May 17 for the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Radovan Viskovic, and the Speaker of the RS National Assembly Nenad Stevandic.
