Mostar declares Day of Mourning after tragic traffic accident which claimed three young lives

"The City of Mostar will do everything it can to ease the pain for the families, and we will also initiate a broader discussion on how to prevent such accidents by every possible means", the mayor stated.

The President of the Mostar City Council, Djani Rahimic, also took to social media, saying the news of the accident deeply affected him.

“Yesterday I was shocked and shaken by the news that three young people lost their lives in a traffic accident, caused by the irresponsible driving of another driver under the influence of alcohol. With the deepest sense of sorrow, I express my condolences to the families and relatives of the victims,” Rahimic wrote.

He added that he would propose a Day of Mourning in Mostar be declared on the day of the funeral to properly honor the prematurely ended young lives.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, in Sevas Njive on the M-17 highway between Mostar and Capljina, three people from Mostar lost their lives in a serious traffic accident. According to preliminary information, the accident was caused by the driver of the other vehicle, who was under the influence of alcohol.
