This year’s partner country is the Republic of Indonesia, and the City of Cazin serves as the partner city for the 18th International Business Fair Tesanj – BiH, officially opened today in Matuzici (Doboj Jug Municipality). The fair has brought together 611 exhibitors representing 15 different countries.

The fair, which runs until September 28, is organized by the Association of Entrepreneurs “Business Center” Jelah-Tesanj.

Saca Prnjavorac, the president of the Association, welcomed officials from various levels of government within Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad, as well as exhibitors, guests, and visitors. The fair is being held across an extensive exhibition area of around 25,000 square meters, including about 7,000 square meters of indoor space.

Denis Zvizdic, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, highlighted that the Tesanj Fair has continued to grow and has become “a key destination on the map of economic fairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and beyond.”

He underscored the importance of ensuring political stability, advancing economic reforms, and promoting economic integration with Western Balkan countries while continuing the path toward full European integration. According to Zvizdic, this process “requires serious structural, economic, and other reforms,” but also presents numerous opportunities for stability and progress.

Zukan Helez, Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasized that the Tesanj Fair has grown into a reputable economic event that brings together business leaders, economic entities, and visionaries, opening up new perspectives.

Nermin Niksic, Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, expressed satisfaction with the increasing prominence of the fair on the regional business scene. He voiced confidence that it would become a significant event on a broader scale as well.

“The Fair is a place where economic leaders meet, where visions for a better future are connected, and where ideas and opportunities for business growth are exchanged. The people of Tesanj, and the entrepreneurs of this region, need little guidance on how to launch, develop, and sustain a business. This is a genuine industrial hub, and I dare say, a centre of entrepreneurial ventures. Nothing here is left to chance, which is why the results are as remarkable as they are, and why success is so tangible,” Niksic said, acknowledging the challenges of doing business in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Nevertheless, he emphasized that since its appointment, the Federation’s government has taken “numerous steps to facilitate and improve the business climate.”

Nezir Pivic, Prime Minister of the Zenica-Doboj Canton, noted that Tesanj is a business and economic centre, and for the next four days, it will dominate business news.

Roem Kono, Ambassador of Indonesia to Bosnia and Herzegovina, reminded attendees that this year’s participation of Indonesia in the fair coincides with the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Today’s gathering is the first step in opening new opportunities for entrepreneurs from Bosnia and Herzegovina to discuss possibilities and learn about the potential Indonesia offers,” said Kono. He expressed their desire to deepen cooperation across all sectors.
