A win, two draws and one loss – this is the result Robert Prosinecki, the new coach of Bosnia's national soccer team, has accomplished by now, in what is the biggest challenge in his career yet.

There were no goals scored in yesterdays’ match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Senegal which took place in Le Havre and Prosinečki is thrilled with how the team is holding up, he told Croatia's Index.hr news portal.

“We have large ambitions. When I took over Bosnia's team, during the tournament in January, I could not count on foreigners but only on the players from the domestic league and the players under 21 years of age. Even in such a weakened state we did a great job. We played the match with the US. without any scores and we lost to the strong team of Mexico with 1:0,” he said. “This is the first time I had the best at my disposal and I am thrilled with what I have seen. The result of the match with Senegal is 0:0, and we won against Bulgaria as visitors. When you have Pjanic and Dzeko on your team, you know what you are able to do. Our aim is to qualify for the next European Cup. We have a large ambition and I will perceive any result below Euro Cup qualification a huge shortfall.”

Prosinecki does not like to delve into politics, although he was already pulled into it during the campaign for the election of the new coach.

“Even now we have an excellent team and youth that keeps joining and that could already play for the A team. I don't know what the practice of those who came before me was but I will not beg anyone for anything. I don't care if they are Serb or Croat. Only those who want to play for Bosnia will be playing,” Prosinecki told Index.hr.
