The first official street race in Sarajevo this year, ‘Deksalgin 5k Spring Run’, gathered some 600 runners in Sarajevo on Sunday.

Organizers said it was the humanitarian nature of the event that gathered so far the record number of runners in this race.

“Many participants today run for someone with autism, this is how we combine healthy lifestyle and one positive and nice sport manifestation with social responsibility, because we are always trying to help as many of our fellow citizens who need help as possible,” said Erol Mujanovic, head of NGO Marathon Sarajevo, organizer of the event.

According to Mujanovic, many runners outside Bosnia took part in this race too.
