There are practical solutions to this issue and it is only a matter of political will, the US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Maureen Cormack has told N1 on Saturday, commenting the stalemate in talks on electoral reform in the country.
Ambassador Cormack, who took an advisory role in the talks along with Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia Lars-Gunnar Wigemark, said the European Union is helping to bring an expert of the Venice Commission to Bosnia and that the meetings on changes to the Law on Election will continue in the upcoming weeks.
“I hope that you as media will urge your political leaders to reach that goal because there are indeed some specific and practical solutions to this issue,” she said.
The EU and the US took advisory role through its ambassadors to Bosnia in ongoing political talks on changes to the Election Law. Although the October election has been announced, the leaders did not manage to reach consensus on how to implement the Constitutional Court's decision treating the electoral regulations.
