Unofficial candidate of the ruling Party of Democratic Action (SDA) for the post of Bosniak member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, Sebija Izetbegovic, will not be nominated for this position, SDA has said on Wednesday.

According to the SDA's statement, Izetbegovic chose her career as General Manager of the Sarajevo University Clinical Centre over the possible post in the state presidency.

Sebija Izetbegovic, who is the spouse of the party leader and current Presidency member Bakir Izetbegovic, said she would remain dedicated to her tasks in improving the healthcare system, adding that she would support any candidate SDA might nominate for the post in the state Presidency.

Bosnian citizens will cast their vote on October 7 and will elect the members of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, members of state and entity parliaments as well as cantonal assemblies’ members.

SDA is to officially announce names of its candidates in a convention scheduled for May 26. Prior to Izetbegovic, another prospective candidate, Denis Zvizdic, withdrew from the race before it even started.
