US Senator Wicker and congressmen visit Bosnia

Bosnia’s Presidency members welcomed US Senator Roger Wicker and US Congress representatives, expressing pleasure that the US delegation came to Bosnia, thus confirming the friendly relations between Bosnia and the US. The US delegation stressed the successful cooperation between the two countries.

 Acting Chairman of the US Congressional Security and Co-operation Commission, Senator Wicker said that the United States remains committed to preserving peace and security and working on the promotion of human rights and democracy, together with its European partners.

Speaking of bilateral relations between Bosnia and the US, interlocutors said that they are friendly and stable, stressing the successful cooperation in the fight against terrorism and extremism where the two countries are acting as partners in the global coalition in the fight against ISIS.

Both sides stressed the progress made by Bosnia in its reform process, the need to continue the fight against corruption, and the strengthening of the rule of law, which will directly affect the development and strengthening of the economy and prevention of the departure of youth from the country.

Interlocutors also discussed the growing issue of migration in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the need to stabilize illegal migrations.

The meeting was attended by the US Ambassador to Bosnia Maureen Cormack and members of the House of Representatives in the US Congress Costello, Eddie Bernice Johnson, Luke Messer, Mark Sanford, Steve Cohen, Billy Long, Filemon Vela and Robert Aderholt.
