Vijeće ministara BiH

Bosnia’s Council of Ministers Chairman Denis Zvizdic, Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Minister Mirko Sarovic and Transport and Communication Minister Ismir Jusko make up the Bosnian delegation at the 7th summit of 16 prime ministers from Central and Eastern Europe and China (16+1), held in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Speaking to N1, Zvizdic said the summit is a terrific platform to present Bosnia’s economic capacities, especially its investment potentials.

“What’s important for us, not just in this but in earlier summits as well, is to position Bosnia and Herzegovina as a significant partner in the field of energy, transport, agriculture and various industries, tourism etc.,” Zvizdic said. “Bosnia has the most significant energy projects of all the 16 countries at the summit.”

“By the end of the year, there will be a conference of transport ministers and an innovation conference that will enable us to create a youth centre in Sarajevo, which will enable for an exchange of knowledge and skills regarding the digital infrastructure and further development. We have many concrete investments and what is important to us is to be recognized as a country with significant, attractive, potentials,” Zvizdic told N1.

Bosnia’s Foreign Trade Minister said Bosnia had a very noticeable performance Saturday.

“We positioned ourselves as one of the most attractive participants at the summit,” he said and added that he expects at least 100,000 new tourists this year.

“We signed an agreement in the field of veterinary cooperation which allows us to export food of animal origin to China, which was not the case so far. Currently, we can only export dairy products, honey, etc.,” Sarovic concluded.

He added that the Chinese are interested in the “Valter’s path,” a tourist route designed according to the famous Yugoslav film “Valter defends Sarajevo,” a story about an unknown hero who defends Sarajevo from Nazi occupation.

“I think it will be a great hit that many towns in Serbia and Bosnia will profit from and it will probably prove to be the best thing we did so far. (Chinese) Tourists will come to Belgrade, Serbia, and finish their visit in Sarajevo, Bosnia.”

Bosnia’s Communication Minister Ismir Jusko said this ministry is working on an important agreement which is connecting Sarajevo with Beijing via Belgrade or Prague. The project is in its final phase.
