Bosnia exported BAM 6.911 billion (around EUR 3.533 billion) worth of goods in the first 7 months of 2018, which is 11.8 percent more than in the same period last year. At the same time, it imported BAM 11.095 billion (around EUR 5.6 billion) worth of goods, representing a 9.1 percent increase over last year’s seven month period.

According to Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Statistics Agency, the import-export coverage was 62.3 percent while the foreign trade deficit amounted to some BAM 4.2 billion (around EUR 2.1 billion).

The country’s exports into the CEFTA (Central European Free Trade Agreement) countries was BAM 1.79 billion (around EUR 915 million), which is 10 percent more than during the same period last year, and the imports amounted to BAM 1.307 billion (around EUR 668 million), representing a 3.8 percent increase over the said period. The import-export coverage with the CEFTA countries was 82.5 percent.

When it comes to Bosnia’s exports into the EU, it amounted to BAM 5.067 billion (around EUR 2.5 billion), representing a 13.3 percent increase over the same period last year. However, Bosnia imported BAM 6.645 billion (around EUR 3.39 billion), which is 7.2 percent more than the last year’s period. The import-export coverage with the EU was 76.3 percent.
