Authorities seized a large cache of weapons and explosives in the northern area of Modrica and detained one person on suspicion of “unauthorized production and trafficking of weapons or explosive materials," state police said in a press release on Thursday.
The seizure came when State Protection and Investigation Agency (SIPA) officers raided a location in Modrica as part of a police operation.
Officers found 12 hand grenades, two 60mm mortar shells, a M72 machine gun, a semi-automatic rifle, two hunting rifles without a licence, a large number of ammunition of various calibres and unspecified military equipment.
