'Bosniaks shouldn't interfere with election of Serb rep'

Bosniaks should not interfere with the election of Serb member of Bosnia's state Presidency like they did the last time, said Admir Cavka, Bosniak MP in the entity parliament of the Republika Srpska (RS), Bosnia's Serb-dominated part.

Cavka recalled of the Constitution's provisions stipulating that the Bosniaks living in the RS can only elect a Serb member in the Presidency but, in his opinion, they should not interfere with that.

Instead, he added, the Constitution needs to be amended in a way that would enable Bosniaks of the RS to elect their own representative in the Presidency.

According to him, the current Serb member of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency, Mladen Ivanic, was elected owing to the votes of Bosniaks.

Cavka is a representative of the Sarajevo-based Alliance for Better Future (SBB BiH) and he believes the party leader, Fahrudin Radoncic, is the only statesman among the Bosniaks.

“He deserves to lead the people towards the European Union integration and NATO. I think that's where the future lies. He has a vision, he helps the returnees, he has a different view of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His focus is always on the economy, employment. No turning backwards,” Cavka said for his party leader.

Bosnia and Herzegovina is stuck in the topics that are nothing but a classic populism, Cavka noted adding that the attention should be kept on jobs and economy.

“That's the focus we must deal with,” he underlined.
