There are still 1,662 ethnic Serbs being searched for in Bosnia’s Serb-dominated part, Republika Srpska (RS), the head of the RS Research Centre of War, War Crimes and Tracing Missing Persons, Milorad Kojic, said at a Wednesday press conference.

The remains of six Serbs were found and identified throughout the first six months of 2018, and 13 Serbs were found and identified throughout last year, Kojic said at the conference organised ahead of the upcoming international Day of the Disappeared, August 30.

According to Kojic, Serb victims have been neglected in the search for missing persons as the process is mainly focused on finding Bosniak victims in the areas of Srebrenica and Prijedor.

He said that because of the neglect of Serb victims, he will after the election propose an initiative to abolish the Institute for Missing Persons.

Kojic said that 410 Serbs were registered as missing on Ozren, and now only 126 Serbs, who he said were "hidden", are being searched for.

The Ozren-Vozuca warzone is in the focus, and answers on the location of missing Serbs are sought from the actors in the other semi-autonomous entity in the country which is shared by Bosniaks and Croats, the Federation (FBiH).
