CoM Chairman: Two dominant processes on the political scene
Bosnia’s political scene is dominated by two opposing political processes - one led by pro-EU parties and the other by fear mongering nationalists, the head of Bosnia’s Government, Denis Zvizdic, told N1 on Thursday.

Zvizdic, who is the Chairman of Bosnia’s Council of Ministers (CoM), spoke about the political situation in the country and the difficulties it is facing.
‘I think there are two ongoing dominant processes,’ Zvizdic said, ‘one is led by pro-European parties that have something to offer, and on the other side we are witnessing an eruption of nationalism by parties that have nothing to offer except for creating an atmosphere of fear among anyone and anything that is different than them).’
‘I prefer the people to turn toward pro-European forces. Those who want the EU, and who want to create an atmosphere and an open door toward a European perspective,’ he added.

Zvizdic is a member of the main party representing Bosniaks in the country, the Party for Democratic Action (SDA).
He said that the main macroeconomic problem Bosnia is facing is the employment of youth.
‘We are talking about tens of newly established job positions, but that is not enough,’ he said, but added that the current Government has, using four strategies, secured two billion BAM for the economy.
‘We have the highest growth of exports in the region. New job positions were opened. Last year, we had the largest direct inflow of investments,’ he said.

While Zvizdic said he is not fully satisfied with the work the current government has done in the past mandate, he said significant progress was achieved regarding Bosnia’s path toward the EU.
‘Where did Bosnia stand regarding the basic priorities such as the EU, mechanisms and everything else four years ago? Now, after four years, we made a significant step toward EU integrations,’ he said.
He also said he is satisfied with the job the Council of Ministers did but added that it 'cannot be responsible for all other levels of Government.’
‘There was disarrangement regarding the political majority in the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the symbiosis between the executive and legislative branches of government had disappeared,’ he said.
