Three deaths caused by West Nile virus in Tuzla Canton

Three deaths caused by the West Nile virus were recorded at the Tuzla Cantonal Hospital, in Central Bosnia.

According to the Tuzla Canton Healthcare Ministry the patients also had very serious accompanying illnesses.

Two patients experienced heart attacks, while the third patient had a history of diabetes.

In their statement to N1, the Ministry said two patients were from the Brcko Disctict, Northern Bosnia, while the third patient was from the Tuzla Canton.

The University-Clinical Centre in Tuzla currently treats five more patients infected with the West Nile virus who are stable and one patient was released from the hospital for home treatment.

Cantonal Minister Bahrudin Hadziefendic told N1 that changes in whether conditions affected the epidemiological situationin the country and they do not expect new cases.
