Science in Bosnia and Herzegovina is unjustly neglected, but in spite of being expensive, it always pays off.
Foreign governments know it pays off to invest in Bosnia’s best students because these investments pay off in countless ways.
One such student is Nikolina Makivic for whose PhD the Sorbonne University provided EUR 100,000.

She studied at the Banjaluka Faculty of Technology and was one of the best student in her class. Nikolina will continue perfecting her knowledge abroad.
"I applied to countless companies but I received no response to my inquiries. The little replies I got were all negative. Studying in Bosnia and in France are worlds apart," Makivic said, adding: "I want to use the knowledge and experience I gained here to help my country."
Her message to Bosnian politicians is simple: “Nikolina is here today, but tomorrow it will someone else. If there’s no room for me in my country, there may not be any room for your own child. Is that the country you want Bosnia to be?”
