Wednesday meeting between Commissioner Johannes Hahn, EU's Foreign Affairs Representative and the leaders of the Western Balkans was a good opportunity to discuss recent developments and progress in the region, Federica Mogherini said in her statement.
“Last night, I hosted a working dinner with Commissioner Johannes Hahn and the leaders of our Western Balkans partners in the margins of the 73rd UN General Assembly in New York,” the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy said.
“This was a good opportunity to discuss recent developments and progress in the region. Our joint commitment to helping all Western Balkans partners to take irreversible steps forward on their EU integration paths stands as firm as ever,” Federica Mogherini said. “This will require sustained work on EU-related reforms and more genuine and effective cooperation.”
She added that the interlocutors also touched upon the Prespa Agreement on the name issue and the Belgrade Pristina Dialogue which are both key for the development of the region and its European path.
The leaders confirmed their strong commitment to moving forward with the European Union integration process by accelerating reforms and further promoting good neighbourly relations, Mogherini added
