Bosnian politics must be based on the values of political emancipation of citizens and respect for personal freedoms, Professor Senadin Lavic said on Sunday at a session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals ‘Krug 99’.
“The basis of Bosnian politics is the fight for rule of law and the quality of programmes that show moral responsibility for state politics,” Lavic said at the session, named ‘The Historic obligation of Shaping Bosnian Politics’.
“Bosnian politics turns out to be a determined fight for constitutional order and the upgrading of the Constitution so it matches European standards,” he added.
The head of Krug 99, Adil Kulenovic, said that Bosnia’s regional position must be defined in order for the country to be stable and to prosper.
“Many, not only Krug 99, think that in this regard we are in a very difficult situation which is being made worse by open pressure from neighboring countries,” Kulenovic said.
Bosnia and Herzegovina should no longer be treated as a special case to which special rules apply but as a normal country with normal rules, Kulenovic said.
