The Leader of the National Democratic Movement (NDP) said Wednesday that this party is leaving the biggest opposition bloc in the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, the Victory Alliance, because “it doesn’t even exist anymore.”

“The Victory Alliance was an election coalition whose candidates lost, unfortunately,” Dragan Cavic said.

He added that his party had already contacted the newly elected Serb Presidency member of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, to discuss the formation of the government.

Dodik is the Leader of the strongest parliamentary party in the RS, the nationalist Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD).

“We’ve contacted Dodik and were invited to discuss the government formation. We will take part in these talks.”

The last time he met with Dodik was last Saturday when he was offered the position of the Director of the RS power company Elektroprivreda RS.

He noted that the NDP has three main conditions in the government formation negotiations and those are: economy, the rule of law and social justice.

Speaking about the results of Bosnia's general election which took place on October 7, Cavic said that his party won 17 percent less votes than last time.

“Our eight-year cooperation with the Alliance for Changes/Victory Alliance didn’t result in a victory, because the Alliance doesn’t exist,” Cavic concluded.
