Authorities in Bosnia’s Serb-dominated part have on Thursday issued an international arrest warrant for one of the men who they suspect have assaulted journalist Vladimir Kovacevic in August.

Two men wearing hoods had beaten the BN TV journalist with batons in the evening of August 26. Kovacevic was hospitalised and the Banja Luka Prosecutor’s Office said the assault will be characterized as a case of attempted murder.

One suspect, Marko Colic, was arrested, but the other is believed to have left the country.

Europe’s joint police force, Interpol, has received the request for an international arrest warrant for Nedeljko Dukic.

On Tuesday, journalists in the northern city of Banja Luka have protested against the slowness of the investigation and demanded answers from institutions regarding a motive for the attack.
