The most joyful Christian day, Christmas is a chance to strengthen the faith in coexistence, in the spirit of love, unity and understanding, friar Damir Pavic told N1 on occasion of Christmas that faithful mark on Tuesday across Bosnia.

“Christmas is not the greatest Catholic feast, that would be Easter when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, but this is our most beautiful feast because it carries along the messages every human yearns for. That's a feast of peace, love, joy and family unity. I think that's what we need the most today, to gather our families,” said Pavic.

Observing this day properly requires thorough preparations, said the priest, and it usually lasts for four weeks.

“It is all one walk, and then Christmas is a culmination when the whole family gathers to celebrate it,” he added.

Pavic warned of the challenges of today when human risks to see the world through materialism.

“No money can buy fundamental human values, that's why the faith teaches us to pay attention to imperishable things,” the friar said.
