All hotel capacities in Bosnia’s capital were full before and during the New Year holidays, said Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka on Friday, adding that Sarajevo drew tens of thousands of tourists from Europe, Balkans and the Middle East.
The Mayor organised a meeting with key people from the tourism and hospitality development sector in Sarajevo where they discussed the results and effects of promotion of Sarajevo as the most desirable New Year destination in the region.
fenaInterlocutors also spoke about the improvement of the tourist offer, the expansion of hotel capacities and the role of the city administration in the creation of more favourable conditions for stronger economic development.
Skaka’s guests concluded that numerous activities implemented by the city administration improved their business results and the growth of tourism in the country.
They said they expect a stronger involvement of higher levels of government in the future, adding that they are ready to intensify cooperation with the Capital, especially during the upcoming major events such as the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) which begins in February.
