First EYOF medals awarded

The short track speed skating at 1,500 metres was held at Sarajevo's Sports hall Skenderija.

Elisa Confortila of Italy won the gold medal, followed by Slovakia's Petra Rusnakova who won the silver medal and Dutch Michelle Velzeboer who was awarded the bronze medal.

Among boys, the best was Hungary's Attila Talabos, while Vladimir Balbekov took the second and Turkey's Furkan Akar the third place.

EYOF officially kicked off Sunday evening with a spectacular ceremony held at the Olympic stadium Kosevo. A week-long event is hosted by two neighbouring cities, Sarajevo and Istocno Sarajevo (East Sarajevo).
