Germany’s Hans Koellner won gold, on Wednesday, in the 12.5-kilometre biathlon race in the European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF), held in Sarajevo and Istocno Sarajevo.
Koellner finished the race in 42 minutes and 47.3 seconds at mount Jahorina’s Nordic Ski Centre Dvorista.
Menz Benjamin Erik, also from Germany, took silver. He was 1 minute and 11 seconds late behind Koellner.
Ukrainian Stepan Kinasa was third, coming in 1 minute and 29 seconds after the first placed racer.
Wednesday’s biathlon program will also see a girls’ 10-kilometre race which began at 1 pm.
