Police arrests man who threatened EU Special Representative in Bosnia

Bosnia's State Police have apprehended a man from the central Bosnian city of Tuzla on suspicion of threatening the EU's Special Representative Lars-Gunnar Wigemark and Chief Prosecutor Gordana Tadic via comments on a local web portal.

In cooperation with the Prosecution, the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) identified, located and apprehended Ranko Petrovic (1990) from the Tuzla area. He is suspected of threatening individuals under international legal protection and attacking an official while performing their duties.

The Prosecution said that Petrovic is charged with threatening the Head of the EU Delegation to Bosnia and Bosnia's Chief Prosecutor via comments on Klix.ba web portal's news articles.

The comments in which he wrote serious threats were visible to all portal visitors, they added.

After the questioning, the Prosecution said they would propose that he is held in custody.
