Zeljko Komsic, the Croat member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, took over the post of the Chairman on Saturday and will lead the collective head of state for the next eight months.

Oglas

Komsic took the post from the Serb member, Milorad Dodik.

Bosnia’s state Presidency consists of three members, each representing three major groups in the country – the Bosniaks, the Serbs and the Croats. The Bosniak and Croat members are elected in the Federation (FBiH) entity, while voters in Republika Srpska (RS) entity elect the Serb member.

Dodik was the first in the line to take the chairmanship following the 2018 October election. In line with the rotation principle, he is replaced by the Croat member, who will hold the post until he is replaced by the Bosniak member, Sefik Dzaferovic.

Oglas

Komsic already acted as the Croat Presidency member in the 2006-2010 and again in the 2010-2014 terms.
