Bosnia and Herzegovina would like to become a part of the community of the countries that strive to peace in the world, said Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic on the first day of his visit to London, expressing the appreciation for the support that the UK gives Bosnia on the path of NATO integration.

“Agitators who spread chaos all over the world, and even here in Britain, for their own goals that are not in the interest of peace, will not distract us on that path no matter what they try and what efforts they put. I won't tell their names because we in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Great Britain know very well who they are,” said Komsic addressing the students of Security Studies at the King's College.

He thanked the UK for a long friendship with Bosnia and Herzegovina which, he stressed, does not date back to yesterday.

“We thank the UK for the efforts that followed after the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement. Those efforts in preserving the peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina were not fruitless. Thanks to British soldiers who were on a peaceful mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, our country is stable today. But, we want it to be even more stable. That's why we appreciate the support that the UK gives to Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path of its NATO integration,” said the Presidency Chairman.

Komsic also stressed it was necessary to enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries in the forthcoming period.

“On my part, I will do everything in my power to strengthen that cooperation and further expand it in all segments. In that context, I am using this opportunity to express the contentment over the engagement of UK Ambassador in Bosnia and Herzegovina, His Excellency, Matthew Field, who is a true friend of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its citizen,” he added.

Komsic is also set to attend a commemoration for Lord Paddy Ashdown, former and late High Representative of the International Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
