After a 9-year old Sarajevo girl wrote a note and sent a small gift to Queen Elizabeth II, a reply has unexpectedly arrived from Her Majesty.
“Dear Asya, The Queen wishes me to thank you for the handmade card, poem and delightful drawings you so kindly sent to Her Majesty. Although unable to reply personally, The Queen was touched by your thoughtfulness and greatly appreciates the time and care taken to create your card and gifts,” The Queen's Lady-in-Waiting signed a letter that Asya Isovic found in her mailbox.
The young artist posted a photo with the reply on her Instagram account.
“Her Majesty's reply has arrived!!!! I can't believe this but it's happened yes!! This will be one of the most fabulous things in my life,” she said in the comment.
The letter was sent from Balmoral Castle in Scotland on 15 August.
“I am to thank you, once again, for taking the time to write as you did and would like to send my good wishes to you for the future,” said the letter.
UK Ambassador to Bosnia, Matt Field, also posted about Asya on his Twitter.
