Bosnia made important steps in fulfilling EU standards and recommendations and it should continue the momentum regarding important reform issues, Bosnia's Foreign Trade Minister Mirko Sarovic and the newly appointed Head of the EU Delegation Johan Satler said on Thursday.
“Currently, the Foreign Trade and Economic Relations Ministry has 16 good reform laws waiting for their adoption despite being prepared in detail. There is no excuse for the fact that the State Parliament is still not working, which is slowing down the country's implementation of European reforms, causing other countries to overtake us (on the path to EU accession),” Sarovic said, adding that the problem lies in the lack of consensus among the ruling parties on how to form the government after the 2018 general election.
The head of the EU Delegation rated Sarovic's work as “very productive” noting that Bosnia has had many success stories in the past several months which should continue.
The two talked about key strategies which Bosnia adopted earlier and the need to continue the efficient cooperation and aid from the European Commission in resolving the remaining issues.
