Bosnia's Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic visited the 9/11 National Memorial Museum in New York and paid tribute to the innocent victims of the terrorist attack that happened 18 years ago in this city.

“This brutal terrorist crime against New York and US citizens led to a global change in the attitude toward terrorism. Unfortunately, extreme ideologies never sleep, and tragedies similar to this happen today around the world. The realization that forty percent of victims, who were killed on 9/11 during the attack on the World Trade Center towers, have never been found or identified, triggers deep and indescribable emotions. I can only imagine how the families of victims must feel,” Chairman Zvizdic said.

“We in BiH sympathize with the citizens of New York and the US because, not too long ago, we experienced a similar fate. That is why we all have to persevere in the fight against terrorism, all forms of violence and extreme ideologies,” Komsic added.

He concluded by saying that Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to make a full contribution to this common struggle.

“We have to do this because of the future generations to come, generations who need to live in peace and freedom,” Komsic said.
