Russia’s interest is to build a pipeline and be present in Bosnia’s Serb-dominated region, Republika Srpska (RS), the Serb member of Bosnia’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, said on Sunday after meeting with Russiam PM Dmitry Medvedev the day before.
Dodik and Medvedev discussed a variety of issues on Saturday in Belgrade.

The Bosnian Serbs leaders said that Russia is interested in distributing its rich energy resources across the world to anyone they believe could be their consumer.
“In this regard, their interest is clear. They want to build a gas pipeline and want to be present in the area regarding energy sources,” Dodik told the public broadcaster in the RS semi-autonomous entity.
He added that this does not suit some and that it is known that Americans wanted to sell gas from America, but called it an issue of relations between big powers which pursue their own interests.
“Here we need to choose what is cheaper and safer for us in the long run,” Dodik said.
He pointed out that the meeting with the Russian Prime Minister went by in a friendly conversation during which they also talked about Russia's position.
The Bosnian Serb leader said that Russia stabilized after the sanctions if suffered and that this is definitely clear to all, including the West.
“But Russia does not lead aggressive policies, regionally or in any other way,” he said.
Medvedev is aware that no government has been formed in Bosnia as well as the reasons for which are, above all, bickering over the Annual National Programme (ANP), he said.
Sending the ANP is the next step toward Bosnia’s membership in NATO, and Bosnian Serb politicians vehemently oppose it although the country took the obligation to send the document years ago. Without it, the Bosniak and Croat members of the tripartite Presidency refuse to name a new Council of Ministers.
