UNICEF awards N1's Natasa Tadic for best news report

The UNICEF organisation in Bosnia awarded N1's Natasa Tadic for her news report titled “Children should be treated from the budget and politicians paid via SMS donations.

During the traditional journalism award ceremony at mount Jahorina near Sarajevo, the UNICEF BiH awarded the N1 correspondent for her contribution to the protection and promotion of children's rights.

In the Internet category, the award was given to Midhat Poturovic for the story “Super Hero Without a Cloak” published on Radio Free Europe.

Brankica Simanjic was awarded int he Blog category for her text titled “Protect your children from yourselves,” while Zivana Jovancic from Gracija Magazine was awarded in the Press category for her story “I'm happy, I'm in school.”  

Acknowledgements for the promotion of children's rights were given to Jasna Avdibegovic (FBiH News Agency), Amina Bijelonja (Voice of America-VOA), Velida Kulenovic (FBiH Radio), Aida Hrnjic (Aljeezera), Katarina Loncar (Bljesak.info), Ammar Grbic (Magazine Pereventeen).

The UNICEF Representative in Bosnia, Rownak Khan, thanked all the winners, saying that their contribution is extremely important in today's society, where issues related to children's rights are not always the most widely read.

”So thank you very much for drawing attention to important topics concerning the rights of every child through your hard work and additional engagement,” Khan said.

By organizing the workshop, UNICEF in Bosnia and Herzegovina continued its practice of consulting with media representatives, experts, activists and competent institutions on media contributions to the promotion of the protection of children's rights.
