According to the director of the Sarajevo Holiday Market, Nedim Lipa, the event is not only meant to offer fun to visitors, but also to reflect the rich multiethnic tradition of Bosnia’s capital.

Sarajevo is a city known for respecting different cultures which have “lived in this area for centuries together and built their future together,” Lipa said.

“That is the basic reason for why we initiated the event where we celebrate all our holidays,” he said.

This year’s Sarajevo Holiday Market is again supported by the city administration of Sarajevo and the Centar municipality.

“This place offers something to everybody, most of all for young people. This is a place for good people and, of course, a meeting place for those who may be different but want to enjoy themselves,” said municipal mayor Nedzad Ajnadzic.

Sarajevo’s Deputy Mayor, Ivica Saric, said that he was left breathless by the atmosphere at the Holiday Market.

“This is what Sarajevo should be like,” he said.
