The first group of Bosnian citizens made up several women with children as well as men, have arrived at the Sarajevo airport Thursday night via an unscheduled flight, N1's Milica Vucetic reported.

The group and their families were first supposed to be deported from Syria two weeks ago, but the deportation was cancelled at the last moment.

N1's reporter said the Sarajevo Airport is under heavy police presence with officers from several police agencies.

Bosnia's Security Minister Dragan Mektic said earlier that these are individuals from Bosnia's international arrest warrants and that after their arrival in the country, they will be submitted for further processing by the authorities because they are suspected of being members of the so-called Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist group.

The official number of individuals who were supposed to arrive in Bosnia was 24, but according to unofficial sources the number could be as low as nine.

the individuals were held in Syrian detention camps before their deportation.
